I purchased this game for my 5 year old son and he absolutely loves it. It's an easier beginner game for littler kids. We also got him the Backyard Football game and he loves that too. I'd highly recommend if you have a little one who's into sports, starting them out with a game like this before you introduce them to Madden or MLB.

This game is just flat-out fun. The characters are funny, funny-looking, some are good and some are horrible.

It seems as though Atari was intimidated by the Wii Sports version of baseball with it's simple yet fun control scheme. This game is what happens when a company tries too hard at something that doesn't need anything more then motion for the most part. What kills me about this game is the fact it basically pauses just before the pitch is thrown... so it can tell you HOW to pitch. Running the bases is another question mark within the control layout. Especially when trying to explain to my 6-year old (who is very adaptable when it comes to computers and video games) it quickly became inexplicable. The PC version of the Backyard Sports games have always been a lock, this game is nothing close in quality.

This is my 3rd grade son's favorite game. We have the computer version, the Wii version, and the DS version. He loves them all. It's easy enough for younger kids to pick up quickly, yet it's held his interest for years. He's had the computer version since 1st grade and still plays it quite frequently. Kids can pick their own favorite players to form teams and the playing venues are fun (farms, space, underwater, etc.) It's not all that challenging, but I think that's why he likes it--he can win most of the time.

Fun game, but it took us a little time to get the hang of it. Fun for the entire family.
